Fuata Moyo

Fuata Moyo (meaning 'follow your heART' in Swahili) was launched during COVID-19 in 2020 by the four Mbiola siblings to honor their late father's artistic legacy. Kabambi (KB) is an artist, painter, and fashion curator from the Democratic Republic of Congo who moved to Cape Town in the early 90s. Martine handles graphic design and photography. Lucy and Tshimaro are fashion designers, creative directors, and stylists. The brand is about fashion activism - democratizing art through clothing and shifting the culture of overconsumption. They've collaborated with major brands including Fabiani and Velo, and participated in SA Fashion Week. Recently opened a concept store at V&A Watershed in an apartment-style setting. Also hosts 'he(ART) in Session' sip-and-paint events and curated the iAfrica Film Festival. Currently stocked at We Are EGG in Cavendish Square. The brand faced typical startup challenges - most CMT factories require minimum orders of 50 pieces, making it difficult for small Team designers. Their solution: House of Moyo, their own manufacturing space in a historic garment industry building.
